People often come to me saying:
“I know there’s something I need to do!”
“There’s something more I should be doing!”
“Please tell me what it is!”
And this is where I gently remind them: it’s a misconception that your soul purpose always involves doing something—creating, fixing, helping, building.
Sometimes, your purpose is the opposite.
When Purpose Means Rest
Recently, I did a reading for someone whose soul purpose was not about doing more at all. In fact, this person had lived many lifetimes of generosity and service. For this lifetime, part of his soul’s purpose was to recognize that what he had already given was enough—and to finally relax into that truth.
Because this was his purpose, he would naturally attract people into his life who told him, over and over again, “You’ve done enough.”
Cool, right? Your soul purpose can literally be to learn to rest.
Multi-Dimensionality of Life Purpose
While the word 'purpose' often feels action-oriented, the truth is that your life's purpose is often more multi-dimensional than that.
In a single lifetime, your soul may choose to:
Perform certain tasks
Complete unfinished business with people from past lives
Remedy regrets from previous lifetimes
Experience specific kinds of joy
Embody and share gifts with the world
Model positive behaviors for others
Offer wisdom
Learn lessons
Heal wounds
“Doing stuff” is just one small part of the picture.

Why This Matters
When you focus only on what you need to do, you risk missing the bigger story. You may overlook why your life is arranged the way it is—or why you keep attracting the same kinds of people and experiences.
A more holistic view of soul purpose helps you connect the dots:
Why you have the personality you do
Why certain talents come naturally to you
Why certain challenges repeat
Why you feel stuck on the “doing” part of purpose
Why others seek you out for specific things (advice, counsel, comfort)
Seeing your purpose as experience means your whole life suddenly weaves into a tapestry that makes sense—not just the tasks you’ve completed, but every moment you’ve lived.
Beholding You
Your soul purpose is not just about doing—it’s about being, experiencing, and embodying.
And my role?
To behold you in your fullness. To help you see the beautiful design your soul has been weaving all along.
